Is their a difference between the ink used in stamps and the ink used in printers?

Play asked:

I have a lot of ink to refill my printers, and I noticed that the ink for stamps costs a lot more. I wanted to see if there really is a difference, if not I’ll just refill my stamps with printer ink.

You will probably find that printer ink is a different formula. Some printers spray the ink. Others heat it. Some use dye and some use pigment. If you use the wrong one, you can damage the equipment.

Not the same ink. The commercial ink has pigments that will withstand the wear and tear over 50 years. The ink for home printers is not the same type of ink. Specific type of ink is used for specific purpose. Offset printing ink contains soybean and refined linseed oils.

It is way different.. read on the articles below. It explains about dye ink, pigment ink.. so if you are thinking to refill you cartridge with stamp ink.. don’t do it! you’d ruin your printer..
